Prayer Requests:
This comes from CDOT member, Donna. "My stepmom Annette Verret 69 who has been married to my dad for 34 years is very sick. She has had cancer since the early 80's. We are praying for a miracle. She has had lots of problems over the years with side effects from the cancer. She is in the hospital now. She is retaining fluid and we are told in need of a heart valve replacement, but is too weak to have surgery. Please lift her up in your prayers." Please offer lift up, Annette, Donna, and their entire family and ask God to grant them healing, comfort, and strength.
Please offer prayers of thanksgiving and praise for the Chad and Christy Johnson family (Bill's son-in-law and daughter) for a blessing in the form of a beautiful baby boy, born July 19. Ryan weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces and both he and his mother are doing extremely well. And his big sister (two year old Sarah Beth) absolutely loves him! (Of course, his grandparents are beaming, too.) God is good, and his blessings for us are without limits.
Pray for the victims and their families of the Minneapolis bridge collapse. Also pray for the rescuers, medical personel, and all others associated with this tragedy. Lift them up and ask that God give them strength, courage, wisdom, and peace as they cope with all that must be done to get through this trying time.
Pray for CDOT members Bill and Debbie Fuqua, of Houston, who will be journeying to Costa Rica as part of a 4 church, 14 person mission team. There, they will be working at a handicapped children's hospital as physical therapists, audiologists, speech therapists and manual labor in upgrading the facilities. Pray that not only will they be able to help people heal physically, but that they will be able to touch the hearts of many through their efforts and plant seeds for Christ.
Also, please remember our soldiers as they continue to faithfully fight for their country and freedom throughout the world. Ask God to keep them safe and return them to their families, friends and country, as well as help them grow closer to Christ.
